CIBIO-InBIO RESEARCHER PARTICIPATED IN “MAIS CIÊNCIA MELHOR SOCIEDADE” MEETING

The meeting “Mais Ciência Melhor Sociedade” (More Science, Better Society) was organized to stimulate discussion on the scientific and technological activity of the new researchers contracted under the Scientific Employment Stimulus (CEEC) initiative.

During this event’s session in Porto, Miguel A. Carretero presented his proposal “Functional responses of ectotherms to global change” with which he recently won a position for Principal Researcher in the CEEC 2018 and a project in the Call for Scientific Research and Technological Development (SAICT 2017).

The CIBIO-InBIO researcher explained the work plan based on the use of physiological shifts of species in space to uncover their potential vulnerability to climate change. He already showed the first results and forecasted the scientific and professional perspectives of the CIBIO-InBIO’s group Functional Biodiversity, in the framework of the European and Portuguese priorities in research, development and conservation.
