CIBIO-InBIO HOSTS THE BIODIV ANNUAL MEETING ´19

From May 02 to May 04, 2019 CIBIO-InBIO hosted the 2019 edition of the BIODIV Annual Meeting. BIODIV PhD students gathered at CIBIO-InBIO Campus de Vairão to discuss their work and establish scientific, academic and social connections.

The meeting, co-hosted by the Faculty of Sciences, University of Porto, counted with the participation of 61 BIODIV PhD students representing 9 different nationalities. The programme included two outstanding plenary talks from invited researchers Sara Magalhães (cE3c) and Rita Covas (CIBIO-InBIO), 16 oral communications, 10 flash talks and 40 posters presented by Biodiv students. Apart from the intense day of communications and scientific discussion, the students had the opportunity to meet and socialize during the reception, held at Centro de Memória, Vila do Conde, on May 02, and while visiting the coastal area of Vila do Conde and the Hall of Biodiversity on May 04.

BIODIV Doctoral Programme is organized by the two largest Portuguese universities - the University of Porto and the University of Lisbon - in partnership with CIBIO-InBIO (Research Center in Biodiversity and Genetic Resources) and cE3c (Centre for Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Changes). BIODIV PhD program has currently over 120 students, and in this meeting students from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto (FCUP) and the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon (FCUL) had the opportunity to share scientific and cultural experiences.
