MINISTER OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY OF ANGOLA VISITS CIBIO-InBIO

On March 20, 2019 CIBIO-InBIO received a visit from the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology of Angola, Professor Maria do Rosário Sambo, and the State Secretary, Professor Domingos Neto, under the scope of the Angola-Portugal Science Week.

The Angola-Portugal Science Week aimed at reinforcing the research collaborative network between these countries and included a series of visits from the Angola´s committe to research centers in Lisbon, Porto and Bragança.

The visit to CIBIO-InBIO, hosted by it´s Scientific Director Nuno Ferrand, counted with the presence of the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology of Angola, Professor Maria do Rosário Sambo, the State Secretary, Professor Domingos Neto, senior members of the Ministry and representatives of universities, research unities and science and technology centers. The committee, encompassing around 30 members, explored CIBIO-InBIO headquarters, at "Campus de Vairão”, its research facilities and ecology and molecular biology laboratories.  

During the visit, the participants had the opportunity to interact with CIBIO-InBIO members and discuss about the ongoing projects, developed under the scope of the TwinLab initiative, and opportunities for new collaborations and partnerships.
