My research activity focuses on the characterization of the complex dialectics between past human communities and their environmental setting by studying and interpreting preserved plant macro-remains recovered from archaeological sites in Western Iberia.

After finishing a degree in Archaeology in 2010 and a Master’s degree in Archaeobotany in 2012 (University of Porto, CIBIO) I have joined several research projects in Archaeobotany within CIBIO’s ENVARCH - Environmental Archaeology research group.

Funded by a FCT grant, my PhD program (2015-2021) was hosted by CIBIO-Biopolis and comprehended the study plant remains recovered from 14 Late Iron Age and Roman archaeological sites in NW Iberia, with the objective of understanding how these past populations managed and used wooden resources in different cultural and functional context.

I am currently a Post-Doc Researcher in "B-Roman” FCT Project, hosted by CIBIO-Biopolis
