STUDY OF OSPREY POPULATIONS IN CABO VERDE HIGHLIGHTED IN THE INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON MARINE & ATMOSPHERIC SCIENCES IN WEST AFRICA, IN MINDELO

The study was developed at the Faculty of Marine Science and Engineering of the University of Cabo Verde in collaboration with CIBIO-InBIO, under the scope of the TwinLab CIBIO Uni-CV. It aimed at understanding the population status and ecology of the ospreys (Pandion haliaetus) in the island of São Nicolau, Cabo Verde.

 

The recent results of this TwinLab CIBIO Uni-CV project were presented at the International Workshop on Marine & Atmospheric Sciences in West Africa. During the event, the work authored by Rosiane Fortes won the prize of best poster. The awarded presentation constitutes the Biology BSc thesis of Rosiane, which was supervised by CIBIO-InBIO researcher Luís Palma and coordinated by the Marine Biologist Rui Freitas from UniCV.
