SCIENTIFIC MISSION TO STOCKHOLM UNIVERSITY TO ANALYSE ANCIENT DOMESTIC GENOMIC DATA MARKS THE NEXT PHASE OF ARCHAIC PROJET
The mission occurred in October, 2017 under the scope of the project ARCHAIC, leaded by CIBIO-InBIO researcher Catarina Ginja, which explores the origins, evolution and domestication of Iberian cattle by merging Zooarchaeology and Genetics. During the visit Catarina met with the project team member and director of the Archeological Research Laboratory, University of Stockholm, Anders Götherström, to work on ancient DNA and analyse the genomic dataset of domesticated cattle. This visit marks the beginning of a new phase of the project and followed the studies on Archaeogenetics conducted by CIBIO-InBIO´s researcher and ARCHAIC team member, Irene Ureña.
