SCVZ DESERTAS FUND ANNOUNCES RESEARCH GRANTS

The book is the final product of a project from the “Sociedade Caboverdiana de Zoologia – SCVZ” funded by the Global Environmental Facility Small Grants Programme (GEF-SGP) in 2011, whose printing in 2015 was funded by the government of Cabo Verde by the National Directorate for the Environment (DNA) “Ministério do Ambiente, Habitação e Ordenamento do Território (MAHOT)” with the support of University of Cabo Verde and CIBIO-InBIO.

The money gathered from the sales, has been applied to create a fund for research fellowships to be granted by the SCVZ for students and researchers from Cabo Verde and from Europe, to study the remote Desertas Islands in the field of Zoology and other related disciplines.

An evaluating committee, formed by members from the aforementioned Universities, from DNA, from ONG Biosfera I and SCVZ, together with an external senior researcher will evaluate the applications received until 30th April 2016. The candidates/projects selected will be announced in the end of May 2016.
