ANAMARIJA ŽAGAR DISTINGUISHED WITH THE L'ORÉAL-UNESCO FOR WOMEN IN SCIENCE INTERNATIONAL AWARD IN SLOVENIA

Anamarija Žagar was one of the three winners of this year's Award for Women in Science in Slovenia sponsored by L'Oréal and the Slovenian National Committee for UNESCO.

 

Anamarija is currently a PhD student who is developing her studies at CIBIO-InBIO with a Doctoral grant funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology, under the supervision of Miguel A. Carretero. She is a member of the Applied Phylogenetics Group and her work is focused on the topic of interspecific competition between two lizard species. During her research, she has integrated research from fields of ecophysiology, morphology, performance and behaviour under the ecological paradigm of species interactions.

 

Anamarija’s work has been published in several high ranked peer-reviewed journals. In the last year of her PhD, the main focus will be to develop ways in which to use biological characters of species to estimate the potential impacts of future climate change on their distributions and interaction.
