Characterization and management of game species in Montalegre Municipal Hunting Region - rabbit, hare, red-legged partridge and roe deer

The main goal is the characterisation of the present situation of several game species in the Municipal Hunting Region of Montalegre (rabbit, hare, red-legged partridge and roe deer), that will allow the definition of sustainable hunting management practises. We wish to evaluate the distribution and abundance of those species, as well as their ecological profile. At the same time, some field work will be done to achieve a preliminary characterization of common snipe breeding population and other protected species. The definition of surfaces with higher game management potentialities and refuge areas for game and protected species is also an important objective.
