I graduated in Biology at the University of Coimbra and hold a Master degree in Applied Ecology from the University of Aveiro in 2019. I am interested in evolution, population dynamics and genetic variability of domesticated species, specially the domestic dog. I have developed skills and expertise in the area of bioinformatic and genomic analysis of ancient and modern DNA. Currently I am a PhD student from BioDiv PhD programme and my thesis focuses on the genomic characterization of Iberian dogs and its genetic influence on the development of Brazilian dog breeds, ultimately value these genetic resources. I will also retrace signatures of evolutionary processes by sequencing whole genomes of temporally spaced dog samples, allowing for a better understanding of Iberian dogs' evolutionary trajectories.
