Fascinated by nature and wildlife from a very early age this led me to complete a bachelor’s in biology and a Masters in Conservation Biology, both from the University of Lisbon's Faculty of Sciences. My master theses, under the scope of LIFE Imperial project, focused on bird electrocution problematic, what biogeographical factors influence bird electrocution risk and mitigation measures.

Since completing my master’s I’ve worked on environmental consulting companies carrying out bird surveys, monitoring bird mortality on powerlines and wind farms and biological monitoring on construction sites. I’ve then worked as a conservation officer at SPEA (Birdlife Portugal) mainly focused on the management and execution of conservation projects, mostly with waterbirds and wetland conservation, biodiversity in agricultural areas and Bonelli’s eagle conservation under the LIFE LxAquila project. I have also worked as one of the coordinators of the Portuguese Red List of Birds and 3rd Breeding Atlas.

I’ve joined CIBIO to work in Inventory of Desert Fauna developed within the Research Group BIODESERTS - Biodiversity of Deserts and Arid Regions. In this project I’m privileged to be focused on my passion: bird diversity, ecology and conservation and wish to contribute to biodiversity conservation.
