Guilherme Roxo holds a BSc in Biology by the School of Agriculture of the University of Lisbon and a Master in Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution by the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto.
His master thesis entitled "Patterns of colonization and diversification within Macaronesian Apiaceae lineages: Ecological and Cytogenomic approach” aimed to understand the cytogenomic variation observed across different Macaronesian Apiaceae lineages.
His main interests are taxonomy, ecology, evolution, and conservation of endemic Macaronesian plants. He is currently studying the evolution of the Azorean endemic taxa.
