Fábio Gouveia Amaral

I graduated in Applied Biology in 2019 from the University of Minho (Portugal). Then I attended and finished the Master's in Ecology at the same university in 2022. It was during my Master's degree when I became more interested in the area of DNA Barcoding and Metabarcoding as well as in all the features that these methodologies can be useful for society, such as in the detection of invasive species and rare species, the study of food webs, biosecurity, among others. Additionally, I participated in scientific expeditions as a research assistant in Romania and Mexico and curricular internships.

I am very interested in conservation, biogeographic, evolutionary biology and ecology of aquatic and marine environments, always looking to connect these different branches of biology in my projects and, if possible, in other scientific areas as well.
