Daniel Oliveira

My main research interests are Entomology, Ethology and Evolution. Most of my experience is in the taxonomy and behaviour of insects, especially Neuropterida and Formicidae, as well as in the analysis of DNA barcoding of several groups.

I’m currently on an internship at CIBIO, integrated in the APPLECOL team, which contemplates the curation of a DNA barcode reference collection. This includes tasks from specimen and tissue sampling, sample coding and preservation to data entry. I’m also involved in the capture and identification of pollinating insects in monitoring projects and the writing of technical reports, scientific articles and texts aimed at science communication.
