I am a biologist interested in human population genetics and its applications to forensics, as well as in the study of genetic factors related to infection susceptibility and drug efficacy. I am also very interested about ethical, legal and scientific issues involving the creation of sample biobanks for population genetic studies. In 2013 I got an MSc degree in Biomedical Sciences at University of Beira Interior, Portugal, where I carried out a project on the genetic diversity of the Macua and Changana, two main population groups of Mozambique.

In my PhD work at CIBIO, supervised by Professor Jorge Rocha, we are assessing the genetic diversity of several Mozambique ethno linguistic groups in order to provide insights into the Bantu expansions.
