I am a graduate Biology student currently finishing my MsC degree at Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa. For my thesis, I'm working with CIBIO-InBIO's Applied Ecology team, coordinated by Professor Pedro Beja. My research topics include passive forest regeneration, rewilding and secondary succession dynamics in disturbed ecosystems. I'm developing my current research at LTERs Baixo Sabor, in Portugal's Northeastern region of Trás-os-Montes. My thesis is being supervised by Miguel Porto (CIBIO) and Alice Nunes (FCUL) as part of the partnership created between the two institutions. In the future, I'd like to focus on plant ecology research to answer broad questions, such as "What are the main drivers of plant regeneration in a human disturbed ecosystem?" and "Is it possible to conciliate both human activities and natural intrinsic interests with sound conservation goals at the landscape level?".
