I obtained two MSc degrees: one in Molecular Biology and Genetics, at the Faculty of Science of the University of Lisbon, and the other in Biotechnological Engineering, at Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB). I started my research career in 2015, when I collaborated with "Grupo Lobo” in a conservation genetics project. Since 2017, I have been hired by CIMO/IPB to work on different research projects on honey bee and pollen genetics.
Currently, I am a PhD student attending the BIODIV doctoral program, and my research interests focus on DNA metabarcoding of pollen as a tool for environmental monitoring using honeybees as bio-samplers.
