I am a Biologist with an MSc in Ecology & Conservation of Biodiversity (grade: "summa cumlaude") from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Combining my background in the Ecology and Ethology of Reptiles and Amphibians and employing my knowledge in Environmental niche Modelling, I am currently aiming to investigate how climate change can exacerbate the extinction risk of these groups by affecting behavioral and physiological functional traits, crucial for their survival. I have communicated the results of both of my theses at two consecutive European Congresses of Herpetology. I have also attended three more national and international conferences, and two events related to the fields of Ecology and Conservation of Biodiversity. I was awarded as the student with the Best Poster (1st place) presented at the 20th European Congress of Herpetology in Milan (September 2019). In October 2021, I published my first peer-reviewed publication as first author (DOI: https://doi.org/10.1007/s10211-021-00385-8). I have reviewed a paper for the scientific journal Behavioral Processes. I am a member of the Societas Europaea Herpetologica and the Societas Hellenica Herpetologica. I have fulfilled my army services (mandatory in Greece). I am now a member of the Functional Biodiversity FBIO group of Dr. Miguel A. Carretero, excited to start my Ph.D. project with title "Uncovering the synergistic effects of climate change and pesticides on ectotherms using lizards and mechanistic modelling” which will be fully funded by Associação para a Inovação e Desenvolvimento da FCT, Portugal, as I recently won a Ph.D. studentship after applying to the Regular line of Applications of the 2023 Call for PhD Studentships (reference code 2023.04021.BD).
