DELEGATION FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF PORTO VISITS BUTHAN AND NEPAL

The national delegation was led by the Vice Rector for Cooperation and Culture, Professor Fátima Marinho, and the Vice Rector of Research and Innovation, Professor Maria João Ramos. The delegation visited Nepal and Bhutan in order to explore the possibility of establishing educational and research partnerships, with the University of Kathmandu and the Centre of Molecular Dynamics (Nepal) and the Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environment (UWICE) and the Royal University of Bhutan (Bhutan). During their stay, the Portuguese delegates met with the Vice Chancellor of the University of Kathmandu and the Royal University of Bhutan, senior officials of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests from Bhutan and senior officials of the Centre of Molecular Dynamics-Nepal.
Paulo Célio Alves, who was the mentor of the collaboration with the UWICE in the field of biodiversity and conservation, also took the chance to take part in the 4th Annual Nationwide Water-Birds Census, promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests of the Royal Government of Buthan.
