CONGENOMICS 2016 HIGHLIGHTED BY TVU

From May 3-6, 2016, CIBIO-InBIO hosted the Conference CONGENOMICS 2016, which gathered about 150 specialists from 27 countries around the world in Vairão to discuss the most recent developments in genomics and their applications to conservation.

 

In an interview to the University of Porto’s TVU., CIBIO-InBIO researcher Paulo Célio Alves, the Coordinator of the Conservation Genetics and Wildlife Management (CONGEN) Group, who was involved in the organization of the event, highlighted several key aspects about this important conference.

 

The program of this event included six invited plenary lectures, namely by Fred Allendorf, from the University of Montana, who also talked to TVU. about his work on conservation genetics and the applications of new technologies in this area of expertise. The event included oral communications and poster sessions, providing an inspiring atmosphere to discuss the state of art research on conservation genomics.
