BIOPOLIS signs partnership to create the Centro do Clima da Póvoa de Varzim

The BIOPOLIS Association, together with the Municipality of Póvoa de Varzim and the Parish of Rates sign today, 17 July 2023, a partnership agreement to create the "Centro de Clima da Póvoa de Varzim” and support the movement "Póvoa em Transição".

The "Centro de Clima” will be a collaborative centre for experimentation in climate action and community resilience that will develop strategic projects related to the recovery of biodiversity, water resources, forest and soil. It will also act in the use of renewable energies, in an effective mobility and in the reduction of consumption.

"Póvoa em Transição" is a movement of people and organizations, leveraged by the Climate Center and which aims to involve people and organizations such as farmers, companies, media, young people and educational and research institutions and non-governmental organisations.

The BIOPOLIS Association will contribute to the Climate Centre through the provision of specialized human resources to ensure innovation, research and development of the necessary interventions.
