UAV4SEA: Technology Development for Drone-Based Coastal Observations
INVITED TALK - WEBINAR IN BIODIVERSITY AND EVOLUTION

UAV4SEA is a bilateral initiative between CIIMAR and NIVA funded by EEA Grants that aims to strengthen bilateral relations between Portuguese and Norwegian scientists through exchange of experience and knowledge in UAV remote sensing techniques applied to the mapping of coastal biological communities. This talk will present the scope of this initiative namely the partnership with another CIIMAR project, the SWUAV and the research developed within its framework. Débora Borges holds a PhD in intertidal ecology from the University of Southampton (UK). Past research includes the impact of human harvesting in limpet biological traits. Besides scientific research in intertidal biodiversity her main interests relate to science outreach as a liaison with the society. Currently, she is a postdoc researcher at CIIMAR and has been focusing her research in the use of drones for mapping intertidal rocky shores.
