SCIENCE COMMUNICATION IN CIBIO

José Teixeira, post-doc on Science Dissemination on Biodiversity and the coordinator of CIBIO-Div, will present a seminar entitled "Science communication in CIBIO” on 17th of February, at 14.30, in Campus Agrário de Vairão auditorium.

CIBIO-Div is a Science Communication and Biodiversity Awareness Unit of CIBIO that aims to improve public understanding on areas related to evolution and biodiversity and on the research being developed in CIBIO on these topics. With this purpose CIBIO-Div is responsible for the organization of thematic exhibitions, courses, seminars, workshops and educational activities, together with the management of CIBIO's press office, web site and social networks. For the efficient management of CIBIO's science dissemination and image marketing, it is crucial to improve internal communication and engage CIBIO's researchers with the Center communication policy. In this talk it will be presented the main projects and responsibilities of CIBIO-Div and discussed how all CIBIO members can contribute to improve communication of CIBIO's research to society.

Right after, at 15:45, Pedro Seabra Monterroso will present the Student Seminar on "Temporal segregation and coexistence strategies among Iberian mesocarnivores and their prey". Pedro is a PhD student supervised by Paulo Célio Alves and Pablo Ferreras de Andrés.
