I am an archaeologist specialising in archaeobotany, particularly fruit and seed analysis. For the past 10 years, I have been studying numerous archaeobotanical assemblages related to distinct chronological and cultural contexts from different Iberian regions. My PhD (BIODIV, FCUP) thesis focused geographically on Northern Portugal and spanned chronologically from the Iron Age to the Early Medieval period.

The core of my research focuses on topics such as the relationship between plants and human communities, agricultural practices, storage strategies, and how they align with the chrono-cultural and environmental contexts of provenance, at both local and regional levels. Understanding the particular role of rye through time in the Iberian Peninsula also holds great relevance in my investigation.
