ATLAS OF ANGOLA’S AMPHIBIANS AND REPTILES LED BY A CIBIO-INBIO RESEARCHER CALLS MEDIA ATTENTION

The work, which was published by the California Academy of Sciences, joins scientific information on almost 400 species - 117 amphibians and 278 reptiles - with their taxonomic descriptions, geographic distribution and ecological and climatic context.

This atlas of Angola's amphibians and reptiles updates the work published at the end of the 19th century by the naturalist José Vicente Barbosa du Bocage. It was developed by an international team, which counts on the participation of researchers from the University of Villanova (United States of America) and the National Museum of Natural History and Science (University of Lisbon), joint to CIBIO-InBIO researcher Mariana Marques.

The "Diversity and Distribution of the Amphibians and Terrestrial Reptiles of Angola" will be available online for free consultation, and will be presented in Luanda this month.
