Her main research interests regard population genetics and phylogeography. Mainly focused on domestic animal species, her research involves the study of species domestication, migration routes and hybridization patterns, with a special relevance on cattle. She started her work on molecular biology in 2008 with an internship focusing milk proteins on worldwide domestic cattle, followed by an MSc on Old World cattle phylogeography. Currently she is involved on a PhD, which main goal is to disentangle the aspects of cattle evolutionary history that still remain concealed, using a massive genomic approach.
