Valéria Marques
Research Technician
I completed the Biology BSc from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto in 2018, having done my internship at i3s on the diversity of gametophytic self incompatibility like genes in Trifolium pratense. I enrolled in CIBIO's Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution MSc program in 2018 and am currently finishing my thesis on sex determining patterns in the temperature sex dependent species Tarentola mauritanica with Doctors Catarina Rato and Miguel Carretero as my supervisors, while also working as a research technician in the same project.
I am especially interested in herpetofauna and its behaviour, morphology and genetics and how these evolve and adapt through time.
