I am interested in population genetics, phylogeography and especially in understanding the mechanisms involved in speciation process. For my master thesis, I am focusing on the phylogeographic structure of a Neotropical anuran species complex (Phyllomedusa burmeisteri) using multiple molecular markers. Additionally, I’m using climatic and environmental information in a Geographical information system (GIS) framework in order to evaluate the influence of certain habitat conditions in the present-day phylogeographic structure.
