After graduating in Food and Nutritional Sciences at the University of Porto, I got my PhD in Biotechnology from the University of Helsinki in Finland. My research work focused on the dietary effects on human fecal microbiota, and the study of gene expression of stress genes of probiotic bacterial strains.
My current research interests include the study of the microbiota of environmental samples, food safety and quality, and food sustainability.
Currently I am assistant professor at the Health Sciences Faculty of the University Fernando Pessoa and co-coordinator of the Nutritional Sciences degree.
