My research interests are mainly focused in the ecology and conservation biology of mammalian carnivores in the Iberian Peninsula. In this area, I am particularly interested in investigating predator-prey relations and competitive interactions between sympatric carnivores, and understand how these relations may affect the species’ spatial distribution and community structure.

I am also concerned in understanding how the global warming may affect the spatial distribution of some carnivore and prey species, and use current modelling techniques to try to predict the potential impacts of these changes in the conservation of Iberian carnivores.

As a final, but not less important, research area, I am focusing on the efficiency and reliability of distinct field methods for the assessment of mammalian distribution and abundance, with particular emphasis to potential impacts of distinct source data on development of spatially explicit models.
