Post-Doc Researcher
I am currently a researcher at CIBIO-InBIO. I am an ecologist with deep interest in dynamics of migratory populations, and its role for the conservation of compositional, structural and functional biodiversity. My model systems are avian migrants, and I realized soon that studying bird migration requires good international links, as species span over large geographical ranges, as well as, access to novel technologies that allow movements to be tracked, in combination with eco-physiological parameters.
I obtained my doctoral degree in Ecology in 2015 by the University of Coimbra. Before my PhD I worked several years as a freelancer in environmental assessment, until I was awarded with a MSc scholarship in a large international project on duck migration. During those years I learned a lot and established long-lasting collaborations with a network of top researchers from Iceland, United Kingdom, Spain and Portugal.
