I graduated in Biology at the University of Porto in 2018. In my last year as an undergraduate, I joined ECOGEN team for an internship in which I applied genetic identification and affinity to trace the geographic origin of several slaughtered and publicly exposed wolves in Spain. It was a very enriching experience that strengthened my passion and interest in the subject. After that, I enrolled in MSc in Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution.

I’m now working on my master thesis revisiting the evolutionary history of the sable antelope from a genomic perspective. I’m enjoying my learning journey of using genomic tools to study mammals and their history, ecology and conservation, which are my main scientific interests.

In my free time, I also work with several nature-related volunteer projects, through which I have learnt a lot about working methods and finding solutions to different scenarios and realities in Portugal.
