Hailton was born in Cape Verde and did his undergrad in Biology, pursuing afterwards an MSc in Public Health. He has a vast expertize on parasitology, entomology, and tropical diseases diagnosis using molecular tools. Hailton also has teaching experience in molecular biology, parasitology, and experimental design, as he is assistant professor in Cape Verde University. He aims to work on the field of agrigenomics, with focus on the genetic characterization of bovine and caprine livestock of Cape Verde, alongside with its impact on the local public health.
