Research Assistant
I earned my teaching degree in Biology and Geology at the University of Évora, where later i completed a MSc in Quality and Management of the Environment with a specialization in Ecology and Environmental Management, during which i chose the avifauna, the habitats and the mediterranean vegetation as my main fields of interest. Specifically, i studied the impact of the disused quarries in the avifauna and vegetation communities, as well as their influence on the landscape's biodiversity. During my studies with birds i've developed a special passion for wildlife photography. My background experience also includes collaboration in environmental impact assessments and volunteer work in censuses of breeding birds in Portugal.
Currently, my major fields of interest are taxonomy, landscape's biodiversity, landscape ecology, ecological rehabilitation, biodiversity management, as well as the dissemination of Portuguese biodiversity. Therefore, i’m presently integrating the team of the Virtual Museum of Biodiversity, a project created by “Rui Nabeiro” Biodiversity Chair at the University of Évora, with the aim of disseminating biodiversity in Portugal.
