I am Deepa Singh working in Nepal Agricultural Research Council under Ministry of Agriculture as a Senior Scientist . My responsibility was breeding new varieties and hybrids of vegetable crops. I completed my Master’s in Horticulture with special focus on Olericulture Breeding from University of Agricultural Sciences, Banglore, India with an emphasis on genetics and breeding in horticultural crops.

My broad interest is in learning advanced molecular technologies like marker assisted breeding, specifically diversity assessment, fingerprinting and barcoding, trait specific gene identification (tagging and mapping), marker development and DNA sequencing in crops including their wild relatives. Knowledge on advanced tools for aforementioned work would prove to be instrumental in my professional development as well as for the better management of crop genetic resources in Nepal.
