I started working on Mammal Ecology in 2014. I studied the human impact on the behaviour of a pinniped colony in Cabo Polonio (Uruguay). I also collaborated in a project focused on the assessment of chimpanzee density in Cameroon. I've been part of the Bat Research Group of the Natural Sciences Museum of Granollers (Spain) since 2018.

My research interests are focused on bat ecology and biodiversity conservation. I'm currently working on my PhD, which investigates the role of bats as rice pest suppressors in Madagascar. Most of the population from Madagascar is totally dependent of subsistence agriculture. However, the main staple food of Malagasy population (rice), suffers enormous harvest losses due to pest outbreaks. Many authors have reported the potential of bats as pest-controllers, providing ecosystem services valued at several billions of dollars/year. I aim to assess the effectiveness of bats as pest suppressors in rural areas of Madagascar with the final purpose to contribute to aid rural population to protect rice fields promoting bat conservation.
