I am a researcher working on population genetics and genomics, both performing data analyses and computational modelling. I have a diverse set of skills, ranging from developing analytical models of theoretical population genetics to genomic data analyses. During my PhD, I investigated the role of predation on colonial behaviour in birds. Later on, I moved to population genetics, where I developed models on the evolution of assortative mating. More recently, I have investigated how SNP panels can be used in the management of populations in conservation programmes, in particular when the population has a mutational load.

At Cibio, in the Agrigenomics group, I am investigating the genetic diversity of Portuguese goats and sheep.
