THE HISTORY OF CIÊNCIA VIVA IN 20 CHAPTERS AND A HALF (20 1/2)… WITHOUT EVER FORGETTING ABOUT THE BIOLOGISTS
Rosalia Vargas (Ciência Viva - Agência Nacional para a Cultura Científica e Tecnológica) | May 25, 2016 - 15h00 | CIBIO-InBIO’s Auditorium, Campus de Vairão
2016-05-23

Starting this year, CIBIO-InBIO will launch a brand new series of extraordinary seminars, covering a wide range of areas and topics that may or may not be (in-)directly linked to science and scientific research.

Ranging from the arts to politics and encompassing, for instance, economics and literature, these Distinguished Seminars are intended to broaden the scope of the activities carried out by CIBIO-InBIO’s researchers and students, by fuelling the debate and reflection upon a plethora of topics that can contribute to promote overall culture and literacy in a well-balanced and integrated fashion. By being open to public participation, these seminars are also expected to foster opportunities to extend this impact to a wider audience.

Having this in mind, there could be no better way to open this outstanding seminar series than by focusing on scientific dissemination and outreach. In this context, it is our pleasure to announce that our first Distinguished Invited Lecturer will be non-other than Rosalia Vargas, President of the National Agency for Scientific and Technological Culture – Ciência Viva.

On May 25, 2016, at 15h00, at CIBIO-InBIO’s headquarters in Vairão Campus, in a seminar entitled "A História da Ciência Viva em 20 Capítulos e Meio (20 1/2)... sem nunca esquecer os Biólogos” | “The History of Ciência Viva in 20 chapters and a half (20 1/2)… without ever forgetting about the Biologists”, Rosalia Vargas will talk about the history of more than two decades that has led Ciência Viva to take on the leading role that it currently plays, both nationally and internationally, in the field of scientific dissemination and culture.
