KIT for autonomous inventory of functional groups of Lichens
Kit para a inventariação em autonomia de grupos funcionais de líquenes
Under the protocol between CIBIO-InBIO, Serralves Foundation and FCT two BioBlitz events (an intense survey of species made by researchers with public participation) in the Serralves’ Park were organized with the help of CIBIO-InBIO’s expert researchers. For the 2015’s edition, pedagogic resources enabling bryophytes inventory of its functional groups in autonomy were developed. These citizen science kits had two objectives: familiarize the public with the group, which often get unnoticed and are particularly difficult to work with the general public; and contribute to the inventory of species. This involvement, allowed an emotional connection with these groups, crucial for their conservation.
O protocolo entre o CIBIO-InBIO, Fundação de Serralves e FCT, permitiu a realização de dois Bioblitz (inventário relâmpago feito por especialistas, com a participação do público) no Parque de Serralves, com a colaboração dos investigadores especialistas do CIBIO-InBIO. Para a edição de 2015 foram desenvolvidos recursos pedagógicos para a inventariação em autonomia dos grupos funcionais de briófitas. Estes kits de ciência cidadã têm dois objectivos: familiarizar o público com o grupo, que muitas vezes passa despercebido e que é particularmente complexo de trabalhar junto do público geral; e contribuir para a inventariação das espécies. Este envolvimento permite uma ligação emocional com estes grupos, fundamental para a sua conservação.
