DARWIN'S EVOLUTION at the University of Porto

Casa Andresen, Porto Botanical Garden | February 1 to July 17, 2011

Taking place at the renewed Casa Andresen, in Porto’s Botanical Garden, this exhibition, intends to give an insight into life and work of Charles Darwin, and the evidence that led him to postulate the revolutionary theory of evolution by natural selection.

Organized by the University of Porto in collaboration with CIBIO/InBIO, ‘DARWIN’S EVOLUTION’ has its central focus on the collection donated by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, and benefits from contributions by other institutions, such as the Natural History Museum of University of Porto, the National Museum of Natural History of Lisbon, the American Museum of Natural History, the Royal Botanical Garden of Madrid or the National Museum of Natural History of Paris.
