Vanessa Oliveira Lima
Research Technician
I am graduated in Biology and Geology (UMinho) and I have a Master’s degree in Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution (UPorto/CIBIO-InBIO). I started my research activities in CIBIO-InBIO (2012), where I developed my master thesis that, in short, focused on evolutionary and biogeographical patterns of North African hedgehogs of genus Atelerix and Paraechinus, in order to understand phylogenetic relationship between three African hedgehogs species (Atelerix albiventris, Atelerix algirus and Paraechinus aethiopicus) and relate it with spatial patterns of biological diversity. Nowadays I am a researcher in the project “DESERTFLOW – Assessing gene flow and contact zone dynamics in desert lizards under climate change scenarios”. My research is performed with Acanthodactylus species, focused on reconstructing the phylogenetic history and distribution patterns of the species.
