During my MSc I studied the effect of the wildfires in the abundance, richness and dietary of reptile species occurring in the Serra da Estrela Natural Park. The general patterns of the reptile responses to wildfires were also analysed with a global meta-analysis.
Currently my research is focused in measuring and understanding the natural and human induced disturbances in the species composition and distribution of reptile and amphibian communities.
Within the Applied Population and Community Ecology Research Group I am involved in studying the patterns of distribution and connectivity of amphibians within a fragmented landscape.
