I graduated in Biology and earned my Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences and Technology - Specialization in Ecology and Natural Resource Management, both at the University of Porto. In my Master's dissertation I compared two conservation prioritization software packages using data on threatened flora of Northwestern Iberian Peninsula.
Currently, I’m collaborating on a project which aims to develop innovative approaches and tools to incorporate evolutionary processes into the framework of systematic conservation planning, using data on amphibians and reptiles of the Iberian Peninsula.
My main research interests are in Conservation Biology, especially conservation planning, Ecological Modelling and the application of Geographical Information Systems to biodiversity conservation problems.
