Birds have been part of my life since my childhood and it was only natural that I graduated in Biology a few years ago, still with a keen interest on their study, now under the “excuse” of doing research on Ornithology. In the meantime, I also developed an interest in studying the evolutionary processes. After graduating, I’ve had the luck of doing research on the field defined by the intersection of both areas (Ornithology and Evolution), studying population genetics and phylogeography of some avian taxa, such as the Eurasian Woodcock (Scolopax rusticola; my ongoing PhD project), the Azure-winged Magpie (Cyanopica cooki, C. cyanus), the Little Owl (Athene noctua) and the Bonelli’s Eagle (Hieraaetus fasciatus).
