My research interests include citizen science with the involvement of people with biodiversity and biodiversity changes and science communication.

I started, in 2013, a PhD in Biology in Lisbon University. With the title “Improving citizen science observations for global biodiversity monitoring” and under the supervision of Professor Henrique Miguel Pereira and Professor Margarida Santos-Reis I am working with citizen science databases, wanting to understand what motivations participants have to collaborate, how these projects can increase global biodiversity knowledge and how to improve the data collected. I graduated in Faculty of Science of Universidade de Lisboa and later I did a master in land management and environmental planning in Faculty of Science and Technology of Universidade Nova de Lisboa. From 2002 until 2013 I worked in environmental education and science dissemination in Lisbon Oceanarium and Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian and in 2009 I was part of a team that created a Portuguese biodiversity database - I am a founding member of European Citizen Science Association participating actively in the policy working group of the same association.
