I received my PhD in Biology from the University of Vermont under Dr. C. W. Kilpatrick. Understanding of how taxa are related and where biologically meaningful boundaries such as populations, species or genera can be drawn are the questions that interest me and drive my research. Recognizing and delimiting populations, species and genera is, in effect, studying and understanding evolutionary processes that have given rise to the diversity of life. Questions focusing on these evolutionary processes are also integral to my research. My research ranges from population genetics and molecular ecology to molecular systematics and biogeography of small mammals of Eurasia and Africa.
I am currently working in Dr. Z. Boratynski's lab to conduct a comparative phylogeographic study and desert adaptations of jerboa species in North Africa.
