Born in 1963, graduated in Biology (scientific branch) in 1986 by the Faculty of Sciences (University of Lisbon), and entered the University of the Azores in 1991. Took the APCC (master equivalent) in 1995 and the PhD in 2003. Specialized in Animal Ecology, Environmental management and Conservation, develops her research on animal ecophysiology, evolution and conservation.
Has projects and interests on sustainable tourism and ecological economics (biodiversity valuation for tourism).
