I’ve obtained a graduate degree in Biology from the Technical University of Lisbon in 2009, and have since done research work in population genetics and biomonitoring. My main research interests are in population genetics, namely adaptive responses to environmental pressures and evolutionary and demographic history, as well as population dynamics and conservation.

In addition, I have been working during my MSc at CIBIO-InBIO, in the University of Porto. My thesis was focused on the understanding of the context of differential reproductive strategies (viviparous and ovoviviparous) in Salamandra algira tingitana. Specifically, an analysis of two geographically isolated populations representing the two reproductive strategies was performed, allowing to investigate biogeographic history and characterize historical and contemporary patterns of genetic diversity and structure.
