Marcelo Nazareno Vallinoto de Souza

My main research interests are phylogeny and population genetics. Currently, I am focus on the geographic distribution of genetic variation of amphibians, birds and mammals in the Brazilian Amazon-basin, and also in marine fish stocks from North Brazilian coast. In particular, I am interested in determining the main processes that gives rise to the present-day levels of species diversity and phylogeographic patterns.
