Luís André de Oliveira Pinho

I am a Post-Doc in epidemiology and my research deals with the epidemiology of Mycoplasma spp in dairy farms. I am studying the prevalence of Mycoplasma in the bulk milk tanks in the Northwest Portugal, with special concern to the mastitis caused by these agents. With this work we will characterize genetically the isolates obtained and compare them with others obtained in other regions of the country and abroad. Currently, my research is focused on developing a methodology of isolation of the agents from the milk trough the use of conventional and molecular bacteriology techniques.
